# Shared Projects
Editor: left menu › Shared Projects
Shared Projects is a workspace that your company shares. Every Tidy3D user of your company can open, edit and run its folders and projects; the GUI calls them "your group". It is a company feature: when Flexcompute turns it on for your company, the left menu shows Shared Projects below My Projects. To get it, contact Flexcompute. Your projects in My Projects stay private until you move or copy them here.

# Add Projects
- New › New Project or New Folder creates it in the shared folder that you are in.
- To share a project from My Projects, open its ⋮ menu and click Move or Duplicate. Choose a folder in Shared Projects and confirm. The message says: "The rest of your group will be able to access it."
- Move takes the project out of My Projects. Duplicate puts a copy in Shared Projects and keeps yours private.
- Projects move one at a time. A folder, or several selected projects, cannot move between My Projects and Shared Projects. The move finishes in the background ("Project move started.").
- A project that is shared on the web stops being shared on the web when you move it.
- Moving a project back to My Projects removes the access of your group.
# Work Together
- Everyone in the group can do the same things: open, edit, run, rename, move, download and delete.
- The columns Last Edited By and Created By show who worked on each project.
- Get Info opens Project Info with three tabs: Details, Activity (who created, edited, ran, moved or renamed the project) and Version History.
- Delete asks you to type Delete, because the data is shared.
- In the editor, the folder list of File › Save As calls this workspace Shared Workspace.
# One Editor at a Time
Only one person can edit a shared project at a time. When someone else is editing it, the editor shows View Only, with the message "… is currently editing. To edit the project, wait for … to finish". The avatars next to it show who is editing and who is viewing. While someone edits a project, it also cannot be moved or duplicated: "This operation cannot be completed because '…' is currently editing."
# Storage and Cost
- Shared projects use the shared storage of your company, not your own storage. Flexcompute sets its size. With a shared workspace, My Plan shows Private Storage and Shared Storage.
- When the shared storage is full, new projects, runs, moves and copies into Shared Projects stop with "This operation cannot be completed because the storage usage exceeds the SharedStorageLimit value. Please contact customer support."
- A run is billed to the person who starts it.
# Common Mistakes
- Moving a folder into Shared Projects. Folders cannot move between the workspaces. Create the folder in Shared Projects, then move the projects one by one.
- Expecting to edit while someone else edits. The project is View Only until they finish.
