# EME Results
In the EME Results section, users can select EME simulation results for visualization and create new custom datasets. After the simulation is complete, click the Post-Run Result button to open the Result panel.
# Dataset
All the monitors included in the simulation are listed in a tree structure. Users can navigate through them and select the information they want to plot.
In addition to the user-defined Monitors, EME simulations automatically include a Default Monitor dataset containing:
S Matrix: the full bidirectional scattering matrix of the device, expressed in the basis of the port modes.Port Modes: the mode profiles computed at the two ports, available when Store Port Modes is enabled.
Users can also create custom datasets based on the monitor results. Click the Add Custom Dataset button to open the Dataset Editor panel.
# S Matrix
The scattering matrix elements describe the transmission and reflection between every pair of port modes: element (Port 2, mode 0) ← (Port 1, mode 0), for example, is the fundamental-mode transmission through the device. The S Matrix chart opens by default when the Result panel is loaded, and it can be pinned to keep it visible while browsing other datasets.
The following controls are available:
Matrix Selection: filters which scattering matrix elements are displayed in the heatmap, for example, to focus on transmission between specific ports or modes.Display Value: selects the displayed quantity, such as the magnitude or the phase of the scattering matrix elements.Sweep Index: when the simulation includes an EME Sweep, selects the sweep point to display. The selector shows the actual swept values (e.g., the length scale factors), which are also used on the chart axis when plotting against the sweep.
Clicking an element of the heatmap plots the corresponding scattering matrix element against wavelength or sweep value.
# Port Modes
The Port Modes dataset contains the mode field profiles and effective indices computed at the two ports. The Mode Summary Table lists the computed modes with their properties; selecting a mode in the table synchronizes with the mode selection in the dataset panel.
# Coordinate
In this result section, users can filter the dataset data. Depending on the monitor type and settings, one or more of the following fields are available: wavelength/frequency, position, port index, mode index, and sweep index.
# Plotting Setting
In this result section, users can adjust the dataset plotting settings to customize the visualization. The available options are the same as for the other study types; see Mode Solver Results for details.
