# Frequency Settings
Frequency Settings define the frequency samples used by frequency-domain monitors such as Field Monitor, Flux Monitor, and Directivity Monitor.
# Range
Use Range mode to create an evenly spaced list of frequency points between a minimum and maximum value.
frequency unit: Unit used for frequency range values and generated frequency samples.
- Options: Hz, kHz, MHz, GHz, THz
set range from global frequency: Toggle whether the monitor uses the Global Settings frequency range.
- Options:
- True: Use the global frequency range. The frequency range fields are disabled and show the global values.
- False: Disable global frequency range linking and enter a monitor-specific frequency range.
frequency range: Minimum and maximum frequency values.
- Unit: selected frequency unit
number of points: Number of generated frequency points.
- Type: integer
- Constraint: greater than 0
type: Spacing mode used to generate frequency points.
- Options:
- Linear: Sample the frequency range with evenly spaced frequency points.
- Log: Sample the frequency range with logarithmically spaced frequency points.
frequency list: Preview of the generated frequency samples.
# Custom
Use Custom mode to provide an explicit list of frequency points.
frequency unit: Unit used for entered and parsed frequency samples.
- Options: Hz, kHz, MHz, GHz, THz
input list: User-defined frequency values.
- Type: list of numbers or variables separated by commas
- Unit: selected frequency unit
- Required field
frequency list: Preview of the parsed frequency samples.
