Mode Solver

Mode solver tasks allow you to build and run mode analysis simulations to obtain optical mode quantities of interest, for instance, field distributions, effective indices, and group indices.

To create a mode solver task, follow these steps:

1. Go to the Folders (opens new window) section.
2. Click New Simulation.
3. Select a Folder to store the newly created task.
4. Choose the ModeSolver study type.

After creating a mode solver task, go through the following items to set up the simulation:

• Structures
• Configuration
• Mode Settings
• Script Objects

Then, run the simulation and click the Post-Run Result button to access the results.
