# Fluid Medium

When setting the medium as FluidSpec, the heat solver equation will not be calculated in the regions containing that medium.

conductivity: Thermal conductivity of the material.

# Permittivity

permittivity: Relative permittivity.

Type: floating-point number

  • Unit: unitless
  • Constraint: greater than or equal to 1
  • Default: 1

# Conductivity

conductivity: Electric conductivity. Defined such that the imaginary part of the complex permittivity at angular frequency omega is given by conductivity/omega.

Type: floating-point number

  • Units: S/m
  • Constraint: greater than or equal to 0
  • Default: 0

# Thermo-optic Coefficients

Permittivity thermo-optic coefficient: Sensitivity (derivative) of the material permittivity with respect to temperature.

Type: floating-point number

  • Unit: 1/K (default) or 1/C

Conductivity thermo-optic coefficient: Sensitivity (derivative) of the material optical conductivity with respect to temperature.
