# Padding
Padding defines the minimum distance between the structures and the simulation-domain boundary when Add padding between structure and boundary is enabled.
# Settings
Distance type: Choose how the padding distance is defined.
- Options:
- Fraction of wavelength: Define padding through a wavelength-based distance.
- Absolute distance: Define padding through an absolute distance.
# Fraction of Wavelength
Fraction of wavelength: Minimum distance from the structure to the simulation-domain boundary, expressed as a fraction of wavelength.
- Type: floating-point number
Frequency reference: Choose whether the wavelength uses the global center frequency or a user-defined frequency.
- Options:
- Center: Use the center frequency from Global Settings for Simulation Domain padding.
- User: Use a user-defined frequency.
Frequency: User-defined frequency value used for the wavelength-based padding distance when Frequency reference is User.
- Type: floating-point number
- Unit: Hz, kHz, MHz, GHz (default unit), THz
# Absolute Distance
Absolute distance: Minimum absolute distance from the structure to the simulation-domain boundary.
- Type: floating-point number
- Unit: m, mm (default unit), um
