Periodic

Periodic (opens new window) specifies a periodic boundary condition along one simulation-domain edge.

Use Periodic when the field repeats across opposite sides of the domain with no phase shift. This is common for normally incident periodic unit cells or structures that repeat exactly along an axis.

NOTE

For periodic structures with oblique incidence or a nonzero phase shift, use BlochBoundary on both sides of the periodic axis.
